Windows 10 shortcut keys list



  1. Windows Key + X: Used as the power Menu
  2. Windows Key + Tab: Used to launch the ‘Task View’ of Windows 10
  3. Windows Key + Q: Used to search the web browser and Windows via Cortana (Speech) function.
  4. Windows Key + S: Used to search the web browser via the inbuilt Cortana (Speech) function.
  5. Windows Key + I: Used to open windows Settings
  6. Windows Key + A: Used to open the windows 10 notification bar
  7. Windows Key + L: Used to lock the Windows 10 device
  8. Windows Key + Ctrl + D: Used to create a new virtual desktop

  28. Pressing Shift Key while clicking on the close button: Used to close the folder and it’s parent folder that’s selected.
  29. F6: Used to switch between the right and left panels of Windows
  30. Pressing the Numlock + the Asterisk key when using a numeric keyboard: Used to expand all subfolders that fall under the folder that is selected
  31. Pressing the Numlock + the Plus sign key when using a numeric keyboard: Used to expand the folder that is selected
  32. Pressing the Numlock + the Minus sign key when using a numeric keyboard: Used to collapse the folder that is selected
  33. Right Arrow Key: Used to select the subfolder
  34. Left Arrow Key: Used to select the parent folder
  35. Shift + Left Arrow: Used to move the cursor to one character left of the current selection
  36. Shift + Right Arrow: Used to move the cursor to one character right of the current selection
  37. Shift + Up Arrow: Used to extend the selection, a line above the current insertion point
  38. Shift + Down Arrow: Used to extend the selection, a line below the current insertion point
  39. Shift + Page Down: Used to extend the selection up to a screen below the current screen
  40. Shift + Page Up: Used to extend the selection up to a screen above the current screen
  41. Ctrl + Shift + Home button: Used to extend the selection to the start of the screen buffer
  42. Ctrl + Shift + Right Arrow Key: Used to extend the selection to one word right of the current position end of the screen buffer
